SPARKHOUSE FROLIC
Frolic Brand & Style Guide
Sparkhouse
Soupiset Design

A brand built to grow through play.
Frolic is a family of resources that nurture spiritual development as part of healthy, holistic child development. Sparkhouse needed a recognizable identity for the brand that could stretch across an entire birth-to-three ecosystem, from nursery and parent-child resources to books, music, posters, cards and digital materials.
Soupiset Design was tapped to design the playful Frolic logo, establish a type and color palette, and create a graphic standards system for product development and marketing teams.
Frolic’s character-driven books, already being art-directed and designed by children’s-book veteran Tim Palin, established the project’s visual language. Pulling Frolic’s core color palette directly from artwork by illustrators Natasha Rimmington and Mike Garton, I created a brand standards guide in the spirit of a nursery-school board book.
From there came a family of 18 icons, marketing templates, welcome signage, design templates, a leader guide, and a suite of nursery cards, posters, checklists, and other materials.
The result was a system with enough structure to organize a surprisingly large family of products and enough space to let the characters, stories and artwork remain the hero.
